How
do I use File Finder™?
Simply
launch the File Finder™
application, enter the name of the file you are looking for, press
"find" button, browse to the location of your file and its
location will be displayed by File
Finder™.
Why
would I use File Finder™?
Let
us answer a question with a question: How many times have you spent hours
upon hours working on a document, only to later discover that you forgot
where you saved it (and then spent several more hours recreating that lost

What do I do if File Finder™ is unable to locate my file?
Many
people fail to have success because of failure to enter the proper file
name they are looking for. It is critical that the filename be entered exactly
as it was saved. This error on your part could result in even more lost
time, be sure to get it right!

Why would I not use the "Find Files and Folders" applet that
comes with Windows?

Tips
and Tricks
1.
First try to remember where you think the file was saved, then start by
browsing to that location. If you are unsuccessful, try browsing in nearby
folders. If you have absolutely no idea where the file is located, start
at the root of each drive and work through each folder- when you locate
the correct folder, the filename will be displayed in the browse box.
2.
If you are not sure of the exact file name, try using "?" in
place of unknown characters or an "*" in place of unknown
characters of unknown length. For example:

no??pad.exe
-
no*.exe
-
?ot*.*
-
notepad.*
All
of the preceding examples will return the file "notepad.exe"

Wildcards are not currently supported.
